The patients, families, visitors, staff and volunteers of Dorothy House are supported by an ecumenical chaplaincy team of employed and volunteer chaplains – who play a full part in the Multi-Disciplinary Team within the Hospice. We are available to everyone, irrespective of denomination or faith and also to those of no faith or who hold no strong allegiance or belief. We provide this as spiritual care and help to find meaning or purpose to someone’s life. We provide support when someone is ill or afterwards in bereavement.
Our team is made up of an ordained priest (full-time), a part-time associate Chaplain and several volunteer lay-chaplains who are a mix of ordained or lay volunteers.
The chaplaincy team can meet formally or informally with people in or outside of the Hospice environment to discuss any issues or concerns you may have.
They are available Monday – Friday, 9-5 and at other times upon request from Dorothy House staff or by prior arrangement.
